Iron Coupled DHT Line Pre-Amplifier closer to prime-time!

With great excitement I’m proud to announce that the 2+ year collaboration between my very good friend Gordon Rankin of Wavelength Audio and myself in the design of the Transcendence Iron Coupled DHT Line Pre-Amplifier is bearing fruit! Shipping the end of this week, the two “Beta” units will be going to their respective owners………

Details to follow, but a brief rundown on the tubes utilized is necessary. Those of you who appreciate the benefits of DHT amplification (45, 50, 2a3, 300b, etc.) may wonder….”If my amplifier sounds this good, what would it sound like with DHT’s in the Pre-Amp stage?”. Ha, EXACTLY the reason for the time and expense devoted to the development of this Line-Stage. The result is spectacular. There is a naturalness to the presentation of recorded music that I’ve never heard from any other pre-amplifier. The Thoriated-Tungsten filaments of the 01a tubes along with the ultimate resolving power of the 71a tubes result in an enhancement of the music delivery. Yeah, this isn’t just a “necessary evil” for source switching and volume control…………… it actually IMPROVES the music. DISCLAIMER: I honestly (like Paul McGowan @ PS Audio) believed that “the best pre-amp is no pre-amp at all”…. for many, many years. This simply isn’t true in this case.
